About the Job:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team! This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a clear path for growth. If you’re excited about contributing to children's nutrition and want to make a positive impact, this role is for you!
You'll work Monday through Friday, typically from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing nutritious meals and snacks to our students. Depending on your experience, you may start with basic tasks and gradually take on more responsibilities as you grow in the role.
Job Summary:
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a key role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that fuel our students' learning and growth. If you have kitchen experience, you may assist with food orders, meal planning, cooking, and ensuring dietary requirements are met. If you’re newer to kitchen work, you'll start by handling tasks like washing dishes, keeping the kitchen clean, and assisting with food prep.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a key role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that fuel our students' learning and growth. If you have kitchen experience, you may assist with food orders, meal planning, cooking, and ensuring dietary requirements are met. If you’re newer to kitchen work, you'll start by handling tasks like washing dishes, keeping the kitchen clean, and assisting with food prep.
This role offers significant opportunities for advancement, allowing you to develop skills that could lead to a Kitchen Manager position.
Responsibilities:
- Help plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals to students
- Portion and distribute meals to 10 classrooms
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Follow proper food handling practices and health & safety guidelines as required by MN State
- Assist with dishwashing, food prep, and other kitchen tasks
- Learn and develop key skills for career growth
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods

- Comfort with squatting, bending, stooping, and crouching
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
